Dorothea Dejonckheere

Dorothea Dejonckheere (°1993) is a Belgian artist based in Antwerp who creates abstract artworks with a poetic expression. She studies at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, where she mainly experimented with free graphics.

Her artworks are a folder in which emotions are translated. Be it the artist's or the viewer's, it is a translation of life choices, events or experiences. These are expressed through different textures and colours, creating unexpected organic forms.

It allows the viewer to look into their own soul and give a place to the choices they have made in life. The viewer is invited to look at the artworks as a kind of mirror, a kind of reflection, to consciously put life aside. Forget the hustle and bustle. Stand still for a moment and take three deep breaths.

Her favorite quote: Less is more.
